Vana Tallinn is one of the best known brands to hail from Estonia, a tiny country in the North-East of Europe.
The word Vana means Old, and Tallinn is the famous medieval capital of Estonia.
It's a golden brown, delicate, rum-based liqueur. Its smooth flavour forms a beautiful contrast to its high alcohol content.
Only natural herbs and additives are used in the secret recipe, which includes noticeable amounts of orange peel, cinnamon and vanilla. To the British, the flavour may remind Christmas pudding, while the French may find the aroma similar to Cointreau.
We recommend drinking Vana Tallinn neat, as a complement to coffee, or on its own with crushed ice.
It's also an outstanding cocktail component. The most famous party coctail in Estonia from the 60s all the way to the 80s was a shot of Vana Tallinn mixed into a glass of sparkling wine.

Seriously addictive liqueur from my home town! Love this served over ice, with a generous squueze of fresh lemon and a dash of soda. Also great on its own after dinner.
